Rhubarb Revival Workshop at Walker House, Kincardine, June 6

Everyone is welcome to the Rhubarb Revival Workshop, Saturday, June 6, from 12-2 p.m., at the Walker House in Kincardine.

This is a special presentation and hands-on workshop with staff from the Bruce Botanical Food Gardens in Ripley, featuring Victoria Rhubarb, the oldest still-cultivated heritage variety, introduced in 1837 to honour Queen Victoria.

Discover its fascinating history, learn how to grow it successfully, and explore delicious ways to use it. Enjoy a taste of heritage with fresh scones and homemade rhubarb jam straight from the garden, and learn how to make refreshing rhubarb iced tea to enjoy all summer long.

Each guest will also take home a rhubarb seedling and recipes to continue the experience at home.

Tickets are $20 each, with proceeds going to the Bruce Botanical Food Gardens and the Walker House Museum.

Space is limited and pre-registration is required. Contact the Walker House at 519-396-1850 or by E-mail at thewalkerhousemuseum@gmail.com.
