The Kincardine District Senior School (KDSS) Musical Theatre Performance Club has been hard at work creating this year's musical production, "A Knight On Broadway," which runs May 28-30, at the Kincardine Arts Centre in downtown Kincardine.
This showcase of Broadway songs features numbers selected and staged by the students, and a script written by one of the senior student performers.
There are 36 students (Grades 7-12) involved in the show, including 25 cast and 11 crew. Director is Michelle Mayer, with assistance from Val Shepherd and Jaki Mayer Duggan. The sets were painted by the KDSS art department, and the lighting and sound are being run by students.
The show is an hour-and-a-half long, with two acts and an intermission. It opens Thursday, May 28, at 7 p.m.; and runs Friday, May 29, at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m.; and Saturday, May 30, at 1 p.m.
Tickets are $25 each; available at www.onstagedirect.com/KDSS.
Proceeds from this show will directly fund next year's KDSS musical production. In addition, a portion of every ticket will be donated to the BUILDKD-plus fund-raising campaign to help fund the arts and performance spaces in the new KDSS building
