"Dog and Carriage" is next print in Kincardine Hospital Auxiliary fund-raiser

Dog and Carriage by Nova Scotian folk artist Maud Lewis, is the next print in the South Bruce Grey Health Centre - Kincardine Hospital Auxiliary's Art/Easel Program fund-raiser, on display at Sobeys Kincardine.

This print features a family in a horse-drawn carriage, travelling along a quiet countryside road with a dog trying to keep up. The tulips in the foreground are typical of Lewis' paintings in which she used bright colours and her subjects were often outdoor scenes including flowers and animals.

The second print at Sobeys is entitled, "October," by A.J. Casson, a member of the Group of Seven. This is a limited edition reproduction print depicting the fascinating October sky overlooking a lake. Casson is best known for his paintings of the landscapes and forests of southern Ontario.

The print at the Kincardine Hospital is entitled, “Historic Reunion."

The print at Rona Kincardine is entitled, “White Village," by A.J. Casson.

The print at Boston Pizza in Kincardine is entitled, "The Guardian" (Wolves), by Collin Bogle.

The print at Canadian Tire in Kincardine is entitled, "Ozzy Osborne."

The starting bid for each print is $215, and they are on display until Thursday, July 9.
