The Township of Huron-Kinloss has announced the return of the Municipal Bylaw Summer Patrol and Enforcement Program which will serve the entire municipality, including Lucknow, Ripley, the lakeshore, and township parks.
Extra municipal law enforcement officers will be on duty during the busy tourism season, with the aim of promoting community safety, raising awareness of local bylaws, and supporting a respectful and enjoyable environment for all.
The township has partnered with Municipal Support Services to assist with bylaw enforcement. Officers will be patrolling in clearly-marked vehicles and will be a visible presence in the community throughout the season.
Program focus areas:
Dog licensing and control: Ensuring dogs are licensed and not running off-leash on beaches or public property
Beach regulations: Enforcing beach rules, such as addressing abandoned items with no person present and refuse left on the beach as outlined in the Beach Management Bylaw
Parking restrictions: Monitoring for vehicles parked in no-parking areas or in a manner that is unsafe or obstructive
The township appreciates all residents and visitors for their continued co-operation and commitment to keeping Huron-Kinloss safe, respectful, and welcoming for everyone.
