Wayne Anthony Zettler of Kincardine died suddenly, Aug. 3, 2026, at the age of 75.
Lovingly remembered by his three sons, Darryl (Sheri), Darren (Jessica), and Devin; as well as by his dear friend, Sandra; and his treasured grandchildren, Blake, Brody, and Caleb.
Deeply missed by his brothers, Harry (Jean Lebreton) and Rick (Donna); his sisters, Dianne Wall and Betty Buckle (Alan); his brother-in-law, Walter Howald; his sister-in-law, Brenda McLean; his many nieces and nephews; and his loyal dog, Romeo.
Predeceased by his beloved wife, Janet; his parents, Anthony and Melinda; his sister, Wallneatta Fedy; his brother, Morley Kirstine; his sisters-in-law, Shirley Dow, Doris Howald, and Linda Cornish; and his brothers-in-law, Edwin Fedy, Robert Wall, Doug Dow, and Brian Cornish.
Born July 17, 1951, in Walkerton, Wayne grew up there and worked at Bogden and Gross Furniture Factory.
He met the love of his life, Janet, and they moved to Kincardine, where he built a successful furniture refinishing business that spanned more than 40 years. His craftsmanship touched countless homes, both locally and far beyond, with many people cherishing pieces he restored with care. Wayne took great pride in passing his skills on to his sons, who worked alongside him and Harry, learning not only the trade but the dedication and heart he poured into every project.
In his later years, he enjoyed travelling and tending to his lawn and gardens.
Wayne enjoyed the company of others — whether it was stopping in for a quick hello or sharing a drink under the shade tree. He had a gift for making people feel special and was always ready with a good laugh. He loved his family deeply and treasured the many parties and get-togethers shared over the years, including the recent joy of celebrating his 75th birthday.
His legacy will carry on forever, reminding us to find joy in the little things, be kind and to treat each day as a gift.
A celebration of life will be held at the Kincardine Legion, Saturday, Sept. 26, 2026, with visitation from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and time for speeches and a reception until 3 p.m.
