(SOUTHERN BRUCE COUNTY, ON) - The South Bruce OPP is, once again, partnering with the United Way of Bruce Grey to support the annual Backpack Program, helping local students start the school year with confidence and the supplies they need to succeed.
The program provides new backpacks filled with grade-appropriate school supplies to students from Kindergarten through Grade 12 at no cost to families who may require additional assistance. This community initiative helps ensure that students across Bruce and Grey counties are equipped for a successful return to the classroom.
To support this important program, the South Bruce OPP will be accepting donations at both the Walkerton and Kincardine detachments until Aug. 28. Donations may be dropped off on weekdays between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
"Every child deserves to begin the school year with the tools needed to learn, grow and thrive," says inspector Keegan Wilcox, detachment commander of the South Bruce OPP. "By supporting the Backpack Program, our community can make a meaningful difference in the lives of local students and families."
Community members wishing to contribute are encouraged to donate new school supplies or learn more about the program by visiting the United Way of Bruce Grey Backpack Program web page: unitedwayofbrucegrey.com/services-offered/backpack-program/.
