Branch 183 extends a warm welcome to Patricia Wegg-Coulter who is our new branch co-ordinator. She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience as the commanding officer of our local Typhoon Cadet Squadron. We are very excited to have her on our team as she begins to help with a wide variety of Legion activities. Say hi to Patricia when you see her around the building.
With the renovations happening, we didn’t have a meat draw last weekend, but somehow, I feel as if Elmer likely won something somewhere. Thanks to John Reid and his crew from ReidCraft Renovations for the great work on our new Club Room floors! Supervisor Alex really kept everyone on track!

Get ready for another epic night! Music Bingo is tomorrow night, Friday, Aug. 21, and we are fully prepped with fresh playlists. We will have some decade mixes and also some interesting themed playlists, and as always, singing along is a must. Does the music make you hungry? By popular demand, our kitchen is dishing out a Beef on a Bun special for just $7, from 6-8 p.m. The cash prizes range from $80-$200 per game, plus extra goodies handed out by our MC Russ, for singing, dancing, or just bringing great energy. Bring your lucky dauber, your best singing voice, and an empty stomach!
Low Ticket Alert! Our Down East Lobster Feast, Saturday, Sept.12, is on track to sell out, so you'll want to act fast! Head down to the Legion branch for an unforgettable East Coast celebration. Things kick off at 3 p.m., leading into a 4 p.m. performance by The Celtic Hillbillies. From 5-7 p.m., dig into a delicious dinner, featuring fresh lobster rolls, kettle chips, and a sweet dessert. Wash it down with a Blueberry Screech Mojito at the bar, enter to win a "Lobster Dinner for Two," and brace yourself for the classic "Come From Away" initiation ceremony (remember: fishes get kisses!). Tickets are $35 each; available in advance at the Legion bar. Sales are moving fast — pick up yours today!
Big congratulations to Paul McGrogan, last Friday's Kin Cares 50/50 Early Bird draw winner. He recently stopped by the Branch to collect his $250 prize. A massive thank you to everyone who has purchased tickets. Your ongoing support goes right back into funding vital veteran services and our local hospital expansion! We’re hoping by the time you are reading this, we will have passed the $15,000 mark for this month.

Looking ahead to October, save Friday, Oct. 9, in your calendar. We are bringing the “Duelling Pianos” to the Branch for a fun night of entertainment. The act was featured on Canada’s Got Talent and it is a very high-energy show, with tons of audience engagement. This will be a fund-raiser for the BUILDKD-plus Campaign. Doors open at 7 p.m., with the show running from 8-10 p.m. Stay tuned ... more details on tickets coming soon.
