DISTURBANCE AT CAMPGROUND RESULTS IN CRIMINAL CHARGE

(ARRAN-ELDERSLIE, ON) - Saturday, Aug. 29, members of the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to the report of a dispute at a campground in the Municipality of Arran-Elderslie.

As a result of the investigation, OPP learned that the involved suspect had allegedly committed an assault on another individual at the campground.

Nicholas BURNSIDE, 42, of Chatsworth Township has been charged with Assault.

The accused was processed and later released from custody with a court date scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice - Walkerton, Oct. 28.

STUNT DRIVER STOPPED ON HIGHWAY 9

(SOUTH BRUCE, ON) - Wednesday, Aug. 26, at 10:21 p.m., the South Bruce OPP was conducting proactive patrols along Highway 9 in the Municipality of South Bruce, when a vehicle was observed travelling in excess of 150 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone.

The vehicle was stopped, and the driver, a 20-year-old of South Bruce, was charged with:

• Drive motor vehicle - perform stunt - excessive speed

• Speeding 50-plus km/h over posted limit

A 30-day administrative driver's licence suspension and a 14-day vehicle impoundment were initiated, with the driver facing a future court date.
