What began with a simple idea turned into a summer adventure that a Kincardine family will remember forever.
Frank Bianco and his six-year-old grandchildren, Benjamin and Juliette French, decided they wanted to walk along the beach from the Kincardine Lighthouse to the Point Clark Lighthouse. They knew it was too far to do all at once, so over the past few weeks, they made their way along the shoreline, one section at a time, with different members of the family joining in along the way.
Every walk was an adventure. There were beaches to explore, waves to watch, conversations to have and plenty of time for Papa and his two grandchildren to make memories together.
Sunday, they finally completed the journey and arrived at the Point Clark Lighthouse! What a feeling of accomplishment for two six-year-olds who had set a goal and stuck with it.
It may have taken several weeks and many beach walks, but along the way, they gained something far more valuable than simply reaching the lighthouse — they created a special memory with their grandfather that they will, hopefully, remember for the rest of their lives.
Sometimes the best adventures are right in our own backyard!
