Where else could you see cowgirls, lumberjacks, square-dancing tractors and plowing competitions, all in the same venue?
As excitement builds for this year's International Plowing Match and Rural Expo (IPM), in Bruce County, Sept. 22-26, Bruce Power is proud to reaffirm its support as a major sponsor of the event and encourages residents, employees and visitors from across Ontario to attend this historic celebration.
The 107th edition of one of Ontario's most celebrated rural events takes place on a huge plot of land, 800 acres, west of Walkerton. The IPM returns to the same site where it was held in 1976 and 1993, and marks the 50th anniversary of the first IPM in Bruce County.
Thousands of visitors are expected to attend the five-day event, which will feature world-class plowing competitions, parades, concerts, demonstrations, agricultural showcases, a vibrant tented city of exhibitors and vendors, and countless opportunities to experience the people, businesses and communities that make Bruce County unique.
Bruce Power announced a $150,000 contribution to support the IPM and has been a long-time Platinum Sponsor, reflecting its commitment to the agricultural community and rural Ontario.
