Police investigating serious two-vehicle crash south of Port Elgin

(SAUGEEN TWP, ON) – March 19, at 7:30 p.m., the South Bruce OPP received the report of a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Bruce County Road 40 and Highway 21, just south of Port Elgin in Saugeen Township. 

Officers arrived with Bruce Paramedic Services, the Saugeen Shores Fire Department and members of the Saugeen Shores Police Service, to find a blue Chevrolet Cavalier and a white Dodge Caravan involved in the crash.
 

The driver of the Cavalier was taken to a local hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
 

A passenger in the Caravan was taken to a London hospital by air ambulance for treatment of life-threatening injuries.
 

The OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigation unit is assisting the South Bruce OPP with this incident.
 

Highway 21 and Bruce County Road 40 were closed around the scene of the crash for the safety of emergency responders.
