Kincardine Bulldogs push series to Game 5 Friday night at the Davidson Centre
The Kincardine Nicol Insurance Bulldogs edged the Alliston Hornets, 4-3, Wednesday night, to force Game 5 in the series, back at the Davidson Centre, Kincardine, Friday night (April 1).
After three straight losses to Alliston, the 'Dogs faced elimination unless they pulled out the win Wednesday in Alliston.
The series opened in Kincardine, Thursday, March 24, with the Hornets defeating the Bulldogs, 4-3. In Alliston, Saturday, the home team downed the 'Dogs, 3-1; and Sunday afternoon in Kincardine, Alliston took home a significant 4-0 win.
Wednesday night, Alliston appeared to take the upper hand yet again, scoring two goals in the first period.
However, the 'Dogs came out hungry in the second, scoring three goals in the first minutes of play: Keegan Angel scored from Shawn Rooke and Patrick Wiejak, Shane Vollmer had a powerplay marker from Wiejak and Eric Langridge, and Gerrit Satosek scored from Rooke.
Midway in the second, Alliston tied it at 3-3, but in the final frame, Brett Burrows worked the powerplay for the 'Dogs, scoring from Robert White and Langridge, to take the 4-3 win.
The Bulldogs now welcome the Hornets back to the Davidson Centre for Game 5, Friday at 8:30 p.m.
If necessary, Game 6 will be in Alliston Saturday, and Game 7 back in Kincardine Sunday afternoon.
