Sunny, hot weather for KTTPS-Huron-Heights Fun Fair
It was a sunny, hot day for the Kincardine Township-Tiverton Public School-Huron Heights Public School Fun Fair, held Saturday, May 28, at KTTPS.

Students from both schools, and their families, enjoyed many activities and games, including a bouncy castle, ring toss, face-painting, demonstrations by the Kinetic Knights and their robot, tattoos, raffle prizes, and a barbecue by the Kincardine Lions Club.

Amanda Goetz, president of the KTTPS Home and School Association, said proceeds from the Fun Fair will be divided between KTTPS and Huron Heights.

At KTTPS, the money will go toward new playground equipment for the school. The current equipment is graded for children, ages five and up, so the association wants to purchase a play structure that is graded for children, ages 18 months to 12 years, so everyone can use it, she said. Cost of the structure is $35,000. So far, about $20,000 has been raised, with another $12,000 required.

"We hope to raise that by the end of this school year so the structure can be built over the summer and be ready for the children in the fall," said Goetz.

The proceeds from the Fun Fair will be split between the two schools, with Huron Heights using the money to help cover the cost of buses for field trips.
