The Tiverton and District Lions held their annual Walk of Memories tree dedication Sunday, June 19, under beautiful, sunny skies. There were 13 trees dedicated in memory of 21 people (Lloyd, Margaret and Jim Hutton, Clara and Murray Todd, Allan and Marjorie Evans, Chantell Shaw, Albert and Stella Seguin, Bryan Jones, Walter J. Hyde, Marion Husk, Robert Grover, Elma Dryden, Frank and Mary McFadyen, Hugh and Florence Fitzsimmons, and Russell and Thelma McKellar). Family members and/or friends were presented with certificates, acknowledging the purchase of a living tree in memory of their loved ones. Pastor Brian Martin gave the meditation and dedication prayer. Olivia Convay sang a beautiful song, accompanied by Luke McBride on the guitar.
Tiverton Knox Presbyterian Church will be holding its annual Summer Salad Supper, Tuesday, July 12, from 4:30-6:30 p.m., at the Whitney Crawford Community Centre in Tiverton.
Inverhuron news
July 9, there will be a “Beach Walk” in Inverhuron, hosted on the public beach. Ecological experts will be in attendance to help residents/cottagers deal with invasive species.
July 16, is the annual Yard and Bake Sale. Rain date will be Sunday, July 17. Location is the Upper Park on Bruce Road 15 and Albert Street.
Tiverton Library news
The Tiverton Library just received a new batch of audiobooks – we now have approximately 100 titles to choose from! They’re perfect for road trips, so come and check them out - 519-368-5655. Library hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, 1:30-7 p.m., Friday, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m, and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.; closed Sunday and Wednesday.
The Tiverton Agricultural Society will be holding the Truck and Tractor Pull, Oct. 2, as part of the Tiverton Fall Fair. For information, contact Dianne at dwants1two@yahoo.ca or www.tivertonagsociety.com.
