The Bruce County Historical Society has received support from Ontario Power Generation (OPG) and the Power Workers' Union (PWU) for its documentary video project, ”Bruce County - Southern Ontario’s Last Frontier.”
OPG has donated $10,000 toward the project, while the PWU has donated $1,500.
The historical society is pleased with the financial support and noted that both organizations are good corporate citizens. OPG has been a proud corporate member of the community since Ontario Hydro purchased the land around Douglas Point in the 1950s to bring nuclear power to the province. The businesses and people employed by the industry now go back three generations.

The documentary will be featured on TVO, and is in the pre-production phase with filming to begin later this year. It will also be made available to county schools to be used as a resource, and conforms with Ontario's curriculum, including lesson plans.
