We were glad to see Freda and Lynn Courtney at the Pipe Band parade, Saturday evening. May you continue to recover Lynn – it has been a long path.
Folks in the area were sorry to see the Clarke Church being demolished this week but certainly saw the need for it. Another landmark is gone – we can recall as school-age youngsters playing in the old church at Purple Grove (even though we had been told it was dangerous to play there!).
Good to hear Marie Colling is back home. Keep on keeping on!
Marilyn Reid and Janet Rhody represented the Purple Grove Women’s Institute at the Bruce County Museum and Cultural Centre, Friday. They were helping out at the log cabin.
June Elliott, and Joyce and John Farrell spent Sunday with the Leis and Nahwegahbow families in Elmira.
We are sorry to hear of so many fires in the grain fields this year. Also, so proud of the quick thinking of the younger farmers in being able to put out the fires. Necessity is the mother of invention, so they say.
Congratulations to all the youngsters who exhibited at the Britespan 4-H Dairy Show, Aug. 1, in Lucknow.
Visitors with Marilyn and Don Reid last week, were Sandra Husk, Brianna and Curtis; Nicole and Michael Husk; and June and Bob Gilchrist.
Shirley and Doug MacDonald attended the funeral of her cousin, Billy Starret, in Georgetown, Monday.
Many of our folks have been attending local and area plays this summer and enjoying them.
Congratulations to Muriel Osborne who celebrated her 85th birthday, Sunday. It was a great time of visiting with her family and friends.
