Spent military flare located in Kincardine

(KINCARDINE, ON) – Aug. 14, at 11:44 a.m., the South Bruce OPP received the report of a spent military flare found on the Lake Huron beach near Macpherson Park, at the bottom of Lambton Street, Kincardine.
 

Police secured the area until such time as members of Base Borden’s Explosive Disposal Unit arrived and removed the flare - a metal cylinder approximately 14 inches in length and three inches in diameter.
 

There were no injuries.
