Good crowd turns out for Ripley Food Art Craft Festival

A good crowd took in the Ripley Food Art Craft Festival, Saturday, at the Ripley-Huron Community Centre.

Building on the Ripley Artisan Festival of the past few years, the event featured diverse works of art and crafts, as well as delicious local food from the Bruce Botanical Food Gardens in Ripley - customers were welcome to purchase a lunch of chicken and veggie wraps with soup and salad.

There were more than 40 vendors at the show, including the Kincardine Farmers' Market, Southampton Olive Oil Company, and Sweets 'n' Treats, as well as handmade soap, pottery, jewellery, quilts, woodworking, and more.

The children's activity centre, organized by Andrea Zimmer of Kincardine, welcomed youngsters to sculpt their own Kawaii-style peas-in-a-pod clay pendant; collage a unique fruit, veggie and flower portrait; and paint a masterpiece at the artist's easel.

The event was sponsored by Huron-Kinloss Township, Community Foundation Grey Bruce, and Foodland Ontario.
