Arran-Elderslie man charged with child pornography offences

(ARRAN-ELDERSLIE, ON) - Members of the OPP Child Sexual Exploitation Unit (Project “P”), the OPP Technological Crimes Unit and the South Bruce OPP detachment have arrested and charged an Arran-Elderslie Township man, following a three-week child pornography investigation.
 

During a residential search warrant, a computer system, pertinent to the investigation, was seized.

Aug. 24, police arrested John FOX, 59, of Arran-Elderslie Township, and charged him with:
 

• Make Available child pornography contrary to section 163.1 (3) of the Criminal Code

• Possession of child pornography contrary to section 163.1 (4) of the Criminal Code

• Accessing child pornography contrary to section 163.1 (4.1) of the criminal code
   

He was also charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm contrary to section 91(1) of the Criminal Code (two counts).
 

The accused was remanded into custody and was scheduled to appear for a bail hearing Aug. 25, at the Ontario Court of Justice in Walkerton.
