Precautionary boil-water notice issued for residents of Whitechurch
A precautionary boil-water notice has been issued for the residents of Whitechurch.

The advisory is not the result of bacteria in the water, but because of an interruption of service while upgrades are being performed at the well house.

The interruption of service began Wednesday, Sept. 14, at 10 a.m., and lasted about six hours.

The boil-water notice will be in effect until one set of microbiological samples from the affected area indicates the water is free of bacteria contamination.

Residents will be notified when the boil-water advisory is lifted.

In the meantime, boil your water at a rolling boil for at least ONE MINUTE before using it to:

•    Drink
•    Gargle, brush your teeth or rinse dentures
•    Wash fruits, vegetables or other food
•    Make ice, juices, puddings or other mixes
•    Make baby food or formula

You may also use bottled water instead of boiled water for the above uses. Washing, bathing, showering, laundry, dishwashing can be carried out as usual.
