KDSS Knights senior girls dominate, while juniors struggle at basketball tournament

The Kincardine District Secondary School Knights senior girls basketball team dominated the exhibition tournament held on the weekend at KDSS.

The seniors faced Goderich, Friday evening, and then Wellington Heights and F.E. Madill of Wingham, on Saturday.

KDSS won the tournament, handily, with Jenna Dennis named tournament Most Valuable Player (MVP) for the Knights. "The girls had solid team wins all the way around, with excellent ball movement and suffocating defence," said coach Vince Yenssen.

The junior girls struggled during the tournament, defeating F.E. Madill of Wingham by one point, Friday night, but losing two close games to Walkerton and Wellington Heights, Saturday.

Wellington Heights won the tournament, winning all three games.

The boys volleyball exhibition tournament runs Friday at KDSS.
