BDO urges public to support Drive Away Hunger campaign

In co-operation with Farm Credit Canada (FCC), BDO is continuing its support of the Drive Away Hunger campaign, a unique food drive concept that focuses on fighting hunger in rural Canada.

The first event occurred in 2004 when an FCC employee drove an open-cab tractor-trailer around Ontario for eight days, collecting almost 60,000 pounds of food. Since then, the campaign has expanded significantly to take place across the country and, this year, it runs in Kincardine from now until Oct. 14.

Last year, the Drive raised enough food to put 5.2-million meals on the plates of Canadians across the country. In 2016, BDO, alone, is committed to raising 700,000 meals to help feed hungry individuals in the communities where it does business.

The public is invited to participate in the FCC Drive Away Hunger campaign locally, in support of the Kincardine Food Bank. Those interested can bring a non-perishable food or monetary donation to the Kincardine BDO office at 970 Queen Street before Oct. 14 (monetary donations of $20 or more will be sent a tax receipt directly from the Kincardine Food Bank).

All of the local office’s donations will go to the Kincardine Food Bank. The most-needed items are dry goods, toilet paper and personal care items. For more information, contact Janice Gibson at jgibson@bdo.ca.

Please help BDO fill some empty plates! The company appreciates your support.
