Kincardine hospital auxiliary offers three new prints in art fund-raiser

The South Bruce Grey Health Centre - Kincardine hospital auxiliary now has three new prints on auction in its Art/Easel Program fund-raiser.

Located in the lobby at the Kincardine hospital is a Tom Thomson print, entitled "Pine Island," (above and below, with auxiliary member Donna Mowry, and at right).

Thomson's love of the outdoors and his long-time residence at Algonquin Park was the focus of many of his paintings. A wanderer and naturalist, he explored Algonquin Park singularly with his grey canoe and oil paint sketches. He had very close ties to the famous 'Group of Seven' artists.

Located at Sobeys Kincardine is a print, entitled “Johnny Cash."

And the hospital auxiliary now has a print at the Hawthorne Community Clinic, entitled ”Rotweiller.”

Starting bid for these prints is $200 each and they are on display until Oct. 17.
