Our community has lost another old-timer and a staunch supporter of Purple Grove. June Elliott died Oct. 5. She will be missed by all her Purple Grove Women’s Institute friends. Deepest sympathy to Nancy and Paul Greenwood, Stephen and Janice Elliott of Blind River, Joyce and John Farrell of the Wingham area, and Shari and Ian Elliott of Horseshoe Valley, and all of their families.
Cheryl and Carmen, Holly and Kyle Bridge; Donna and Dennis, Courtney and Michael, Brandy and Kevin Bridge; Kathryn and Andrew Vogan attended the wedding of Tanya Coulthard and Chris Mathewson. Tanya is the daughter of the late LeRoy and Shirley Coulthard. After the wedding at Castle Loma in Toronto, the couple was spending their honeymoon touring China and Japan.
Marilyn and Don Reid; Kim, Larry, Zach and Tanner Reid; Sandra, Ed and Ryan Husk, Brianna Husk and Curtis, Nicole and Michael Husk, and Don’s sister, Wilda Parker of Dorchester, all attended the wedding of Nikki and Collin Syvret in Woodstock, Oct. 1. Nikki is the daughter of Jo and Brian Reid. Her brothers, Bradley and Gregory, were in attendance as well.
Janet and Wayne Rhody returned home from their holiday north of Thunder Bay.
Janet Rhody, Janet Nixon and Marilyn Reid attended the Grey-Bruce Area Women's Institute Convention in Keady, Thursday, Oct. 6. It was well-attended. One topic of discussion was about the companies extracting water from wells in the area.
Congratulations to Josh West and Michelle Kahlemier who were married in Stratford, Oct. 1. Josh is the son of Irene (Logtenberg) and Joe West. Michele is the daughter of Pat and Peter Kahlemier of Kitchener.
Congratulations also to Louise Miller and Bryce Poirier who were married at the home of the bride’s parents, Janice (Farrell) and George Miller at Thorndale, Oct. 1.
The Sumac trees and some other trees are changing their foliage. Welcome Fall! We hope everyone has a Blessed and Happy Thanksgiving.
