The weather was warm and sunny - perfect for the elementary school cross-country meet, held Tuesday afternoon, at Ainsdale Golf Course, south of Kincardine.
Runners from Ripley-Huron Community School, Lucknow Central Public School, Kincardine Township-Tiverton Public School, and Ecole Elgin Market and Huron Heights public schools in Kincardine, competed to qualify for the Bluewater regional meet, Wednesday, Oct. 12, at Saugeen Bluffs Conservation Area, near Paisley. The top five runners from each school are eligible for that event.

Organizer Tiffany Rutledge thanked everyone for participating, and also thanked all the volunteers who assisted with the event. She had a special thank you for Bill Pike who has been the "rabbit," leading the runners through the course, for the past 24 years.
