More than 2,200 bottles and cans were collected, raising just over $265 for Special Olympics of Kincardine and District, during a bottle drive held Saturday, Oct. 1, at the Sobeys Kincardine parking lot.
Sponsored by the Kincardine Knights of Columbus, the fund-raiser actually began earlier in the week when donations were accepted in a trailer located at the St. Anthony's Church parking lot on Russell Street.
The event accepted beer, wine and liquor bottles and cans, as well as tetra packs.
Members of Special Olympics Kincardine helped with the collection on the Saturday.
