Township flies flags at half-mast after death of former mayor Stuart Reavie

Huron-Kinloss is flying the municipal flag and Canadian flag at half-mast in honour of former mayor and councillor, Stuart Reavie, who died Friday in Wingham hospital.

Reavie was reeve of Lucknow prior to amalgamation of the village with Huron and Kinloss Townships, into Huron-Kinloss Township, in 1999.

He was the first mayor of the new township and served until his retirement in 2003. He also served as warden of Bruce County for three terms: in 1996, 2000 and 2001.

In a notice issued Friday, township council and staff stated they are deeply saddened at the news of Reavie's death. As per the township flag protocol, the flags will be flown at half-mast in honour of his service to the community of Huron-Kinloss.
