About 100 items donated to Kincardine Food Bank from Ripley Fair entries

About 100 items have been donated to the Kincardine Food Bank, thanks to a special section of entries at the Ripley-Huron Fall Fair.

In September, children were encouraged to participate in a new Junior Section class - "Food Bank Donation." To enter, each child was asked to decorate a container and display five non-perishable food items to make up a meal.

The food items collected were presented Wednesday evening, to Nancy Dawson, one of the co-ordinators of the food bank, at the Anglican Church of the Messiah, Kincardine.

Dawson welcomed the donation from Bev Fry of the Ripley Agricultural Society, and some participants in the Junior Section class: Eric Hackney, 13, Hannah MacDonald, 10, Alayna Middelkamp, 9, Josie Middelkamp, 7, and Ripley Fall Fair ambassador Bethany Wilken.
