Members of Bervie Women's Institute honoured

Three members of the Bervie Women's Institute received special honours recently.
Betty Anne Thompson (right, in photo at right) received the Woman of Excellence Fair Award at the Bruce County Rally, held Thursday, Oct. 25, in Walkerton.
She was nominated for the award to recognize a deserving Women’s Institute member who has made an outstanding contribution to her local fair. She is also very involved at home, working alongside her husband, Brian, on the family farm. She and her daughters were involved with 4-H over the years.
Last month, Bervie W.I. president Sylvia Hasbury presented a 70-year W.I. pin to Mildred Griffith, and a 50-year W.I. pin to Virene Thompson.
