Kincardine woman's body, vehicle recovered from Lake Huron
(LAKE HURON, ON) – The body of a Kincardine woman, and a vehicle were recovered from Lake Huron, near the north pier at Kincardine Harbour, Wednesday afternoon.
The South Bruce OPP was called to the scene Tuesday, Nov. 15, at 3:53 p.m., after receiving the report of a vehicle entering the water of Lake Huron from the north pier. Officers responded to the area with Bruce County paramedics, Kincardine firefighters and members of the Saugeen Shores Fire Service. Using two Zodiac boats, emergency responders searched for the vehicle until sunset.
Wednesday morning, the OPP Underwater Search and Recovery Unit, along with the South Bruce OPP Marine Unit, located the vehicle. It was removed from the water by a local crane Wednesday, Nov. 16, at 2:54 p.m.
The deceased body of a 67-year-old Kincardine woman was also recovered from the water. Foul play is not suspected.
