Janet Cress of Point Clark dies at the age of 83

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our mom and grandma, Janet Isabel Cress (nee Dobbie), Nov. 18, 2016, at the Kincardine hospital, at the age of 83, following a brief illness.

Janet will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 63 years, Roswell; sons, Barry (Lorraine), and Brad (Sonya); and grandchildren, Nicole, Michelle, Kody, Sarah and Mike.

Also remembered by sisters, Peg Seller, Nancy Fletcher, and Rosie Dobbie; and brother, Bud (Joyce) Dobbie. Janet will be missed by her nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

Predeceased by her parents, Thomas and Bertha Dobbie; son, Brian; brothers-in-law, Jene Seller and Ron Fletcher; and brother, Bill Dobbie.

Janet was very involved in her community and liked to stay busy. She was a long-time member of the Pine River United Church, former treasurer of the Huron Lakeshore Friendship Club, membership chairperson of the Point Clark Beach Association, and secretary of the Pine River Boat Club.

Cremation has taken place.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Pine River United Church, Saturday, Dec. 3, 2016, at Noon.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Pine River United Church would be appreciated by the family.

Interment Lurgan Cemetery.
