South Bruce OPP report impaired driver; suspicious person; and two accidents

IMPAIRED DRIVER LOSES CONTROL

(KINCARDINE, ON) – Dec. 2, at 12:30 a.m., the South Bruce OPP received the report of a single-vehicle crash on Andrew Malcolm Drive in Kincardine. 

Officers arrived to find a grey Pontiac G5 had struck a light pole. The driver was found to have been drinking alcohol. Twenty-five-year-old Caitlin GRAY of Huron-Kinloss Township has been charged with impaired driving, operate over-80 milligrams, and fail to stop at accident.

She is scheduled to appear in court Jan. 11, 2017, to answer to the charges. There were no injuries reported at the scene.

POLICE RESPOND TO REPORT OF A SUSPICIOUS PERSON

(HURON TWP, ON) – Dec. 1, at 10:20 a.m., the South Bruce OPP received the report of a suspicious person at a residence along McCormick Drive in Huron Township. 

Officers arrived and were advised that a man wearing a beige jacket was seen leaving the homeowner’s back yard. Members of the West Region OPP Emergency Response Team and OPP Canine Unit assisted the South Bruce OPP with a search of the area. The investigation continues.

VEHICLE CRASHES INTO A TREE

Nov. 23, at 10:09 p.m., a South Bruce OPP officer on patrol along Highway 21 in Huron Township, observed a silver Pontiac G5 moving at a high rate of speed. 

The vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree before coming to rest in the ditch. A 19-year-old Huron-Kinloss Township man was charged with speeding. There were minor injuries reported at the scene.

VEHICLE TAKES OUT HYDRO POLE

Nov. 22, at 2:21 p.m., the South Bruce OPP received the report of a vehicle striking a hydro pole along Lake Range Drive in Huron Township. 

Officers arrived to find that a black Mitsubishi Outlander had left the roadway and struck a hydro pole before coming to rest. Hydro One attended to service the broken hydro pole. There were minor injuries reported at the scene.
