KDSS hosting annual Knight of the Arts Jan. 19

Kincardine District Secondary School is hosting its Knight of the Arts, Thursday, Jan. 19, from 7-10 p.m., at the school.

An annual event for the past three years, it is an opportunity for students to showcase their creative works, ranging from acting to visual art. Featured at the show are: a live rock band, an art showcase, a live play, and media by students in Grades 9-12.

The theme for this year is, "The Song Remains the Same," which is also the name of the play being presented.

In the play, we follow three different groups of teenagers as they deal with problems in the 1960s, 1980s, and today (2010-16). It is a three-act play with a short intermission, performed by Keith Colley’s Grades 10 and 12 drama class.

The artwork on display is from several of Cati VanVeen’s art classes, spanning all grades. It features different media, including acrylic painting, pastel, and sculpture.

A live rock band will be performing several classic rock songs and an original song.

The media is a collection of short films and presentations made by Colley’s media class.

Admission to the Knight of the Arts is by donation at the door.
