Audrey Penny of Kincardine dies at the age of 76

Audrey Jasmine Penny (née Francis) of Kincardine died Saturday, Jan. 21, 2017, in her 77th year.

Born March 8, 1940, in Dedham, England, she was the daughter of the late Lesley and Winifred Francis.

Audrey is survived by her husband of 57 years, Edwin "Ted" Penny of Kincardine; and her children, Allen Penny (Tammy) of Wingham, and Sue (Jeff) Carey of Brampton. She was honoured to be a "Granny" to her grandchildren, Katie, Carter, and Jack.

She will be greatly missed by her sister and friend, Jean Francis of Owen Sound' and her niece, Sally Cooper, and nephew, Mark Cooper, and their families.

Throughout the years, Audrey was known for her baking (e.g., peanut butter cookies), her love of gardening, her possession of a quick wit, and her caring nature.

The funeral will be held at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, Kincardine (519-396-2701), on a date to be announced in the spring of 2017.
