Purple Grove news

Our sympathy is sent to Donna Swann and her brother, Jim Surridge, and Grace on the death of their brother, John. He and his family were living in Woodstock.

Also, our sympathy is sent to the Thompson family on the death of Linda Thompson of Mississauga. Her brother-in-law, Don, and nephews will miss her. Her presence and commitment to the Ripley Fall Fair were always appreciated.
 
A fun time was had by the ladies, tying quilts at St. Andrew’s United Church, Ripley, Monday. 
 
Sorry our Purple Grove Neighbourhood Watch isn’t working as well as it usually does. If anyone has buildings that aren’t inhabited in the winter, please check them. And for those who broke into the dwellings, there is a saying: ‘Be sure your sins will find you out.'
 
Winnifred Segal, Nancy and Brian King of Chatham, and Ron Dore visited recently with Largaret McInnes.
 
Happy Birthday party to Amber Droppert who celebrated her second birthday at the home of her grandparents, John and Joyce Farrell, with almost all of the family in attendance. Steven and Jan Elliott of Blind River are visiting for a few days, and Thursday evening, Shane Forsythe of Wiarton visited with the Farrells.
 
Jake Alvi and Jasmine Alvi and friends had supper with Wayne and Janet Rhody and family, Sunday evening. Mandy Zuk and Janet Rhody took a tour down to Kitchener to visit the sales barn last week while Don, Xavier and Zachary were on a camping excursion with the Scouts and Beavers of Hanover.
 
Danica Farrell stayed overnight with her grandparents, Jim and Fran, Friday night last week.
 
The March 1 Women's Institute meeting will be held at the home of Mary Anne Kukoly at 1:30 p.m., with guest speaker from Pine River Watershed. We’re all working on our tips to pass on to be “clutter-free!” Some of us seem to have a lot of stuff!
