Rain stops just in time for inaugural Ripley Easter Egg Hunt

The inaugural Ripley Easter Egg Hunt began as a soggy affair, as a crowd gathered for the event, Saturday morning, in Lewis Park.

However, as is traditional for Ripley events, the rain quit just before 11 a.m., so the children and adults could start searching through the park for their Easter eggs.

Sponsored by the Ripley Business Community, the event saw each child registered and given a number, and then the children had to search for their Easter eggs with their numbers on them. Once they returned with the eggs, they received treat bags from the Easter Bunny.

There were also a half-dozen golden eggs hidden and when that one was discovered and returned, the child received a special prize.

It was a great event despite the rainy start.

The Ripley Business Community organized the Easter Egg Hunt, with support from the Nuclear Waste Management Organization (NWMO), the Bulk Barn in Kincardine, the Ripley Variety, and a hard-working group of volunteers.
