Bruce County donates mature sugar maples for planting in eight municipalities
This year marks the 150th anniversary of Bruce County's official formation.

To celebrate and provide a legacy of this special year, 14 mature trees will be planted across the county.

Friday, April 21, just one day before Earth Day, each of Bruce County's eight municipalities will receive a mature sugar maple. Members of the public are invited to attend tree-planting ceremonies at 11 a.m., in the following locations:

  • Municipal office in Chesley
  • Bruce Power Regional Soccer Park in Walkerton
  • Ripley Memorial Park
  • Tiverton Cenotaph
  • Lion's Head Cenotaph
  • Teeswater Fairgrounds
  • Hepworth Cenotaph
  • Saugeen Shores Police Station

Trees will be planted in six additional public locations Friday, April 28, for Bruce County residents and visitors to enjoy for at least another 150 years.
