Official ribbon-cutting held at Ainsdale Golf Course amid the cold, windy weather

The sun was shining and there was no snow, Saturday, but it was a cold, windy welcome to golfers at the grand opening of Ainsdale Golf Course, just south of Kincardine on Highway 21.

New owners Charles and Taylor Candler and their son, Wyatt, were joined by a crowd of well-wishers, as Kincardine mayor Anne Eadie cut the ribbon to officially open the 18-hole golf course for the season.

"Congratulations to you on your grand opening," said Eadie. "I wish you great success in the future."

The clubhouse, banquet hall, restaurant and bar, and pro shop have been completely renovated, and lessons and leagues are set to begin next month, along with a junior program.

Some brave souls took to the course to shoot a few holes, while others enjoyed the hospitality inside.

The Candlers, who purchased the business from Al and Kathy Mackay, welcome everyone to enjoy the facilities at Ainsdale. Whether it be for a cold beverage after your round of golf, lunch, or a wedding or special event, the team at Ainsdale is happy to take care of all the details to make sure your experience is an unforgettable one.

The grand opening continues Sunday, April 23, with raffles, finger foods and more.
