Purple Grove news

It was sure nice to see the grass getting greener around the Grove and elsewhere, and with everyone so busy, there isn't as much news!

Some more 4-H club meetings this week coming up - the Ripley Dairy Club is meeting Saturday, April 29, at 7 p.m. at the farm of Murray and Sarah Lotton.
 
Friday evening was a good gathering of folks at the home of Don and Marilyn Reid for cards, games and visiting. Also, a brief community centre meeting followed and we set the date for the cleaning bee. Weather permitting, it will be next Saturday, April 29, starting at 10 a.m. (or as soon as you can make it). It was also suggested that we do a potluck lunch  -  works for me!

Most of our young people are home from university and college – welcome home, and good luck in your summer job placements.
 
Congratulations to Jo Reid and Michelle Rhody who received 20-year Ontario Volunteer Service Awards recently! Jo and Michelle are faithful volunteers for our Purple Grove Women's Institute and community.

Folks enjoyed the supper at the Kinloss Community Centre, sponsored by the Bervie United Church and the Concert at Kingsbridge Centre, Sunday evening.
