NAV Canada at Kincardine Airport Tuesday testing approaches

Several people reported seeing a jet at the Kincardine Airport, Tuesday, trying to land.

It was a Navigation Canada (NAV Canada) jet flying the approaches for the runways, says airport manager Blake Evans. "That jet is too large to land at our airport due to the length required for it to stop and take off."

NAV Canada is a private, non-share capital corporation that owns and operates Canada's civil air navigation service.

Meanwhile, work will begin soon on the $1.7-million project to fix the main east-west runway at the airport, with the Murray Group hired for the job. It is expected to be completed before Canada Day.
