Sharon Chambers appointed new Kincardine chief administrative officer
The current chief administrative officer (CAO) of North Huron will take on that role in Kincardine, effective July 4.

Following a closed session Wednesday night (May 10), Kincardine mayor Anne Eadie and council announced the appointment of Sharon Chambers (right) as the new Kincardine CAO.

She takes over from Murray Clarke who retires at the end of June after a 36-year career in public service, the past five in Kincardine.

Chambers has 24 years of experience working in local government, which includes working in multiple municipal departments where she gained direct knowledge of many aspects of municipal operations.

“I am very pleased to have the opportunity to serve the Municipality of Kincardine, as CAO," said Chambers, in a press release issued Wednesday by the municipality.

"I know that I am welcomed by a strong and dedicated team, and I look forward to working with the staff and council on the many important projects ahead. It will be wonderful to reconnect with my Bruce County colleagues, and I look forward to building new relationships as I take on my new role”.

Chambers' hiring concluded a full recruitment process that included 47 applicants.

“We are pleased that the community has been able to attract someone of her calibre in this very important leadership role," said Eadie, "and we all look forward to her joining our organization with our excellent senior leadership team and dedicated staff members.”
