Police recover one stolen truck, continue search for second one
(ASHFIELD-COLBORNE-WAWANOSH, ON) - Huron County OPP officers, with the assistance of the West Region Forensic Identification Services Unit, continue to investigate the theft of two Ford Super Duty pick-up trucks that were stolen this past weekend from the Dungannon area.
Police believe the connected thefts may have taken place sometime around 4 a.m., June 10, 2017. The thieves stole one of the trucks, a white 2017 Ford F-250 Super-Duty Platinum Edition, from an address located just south of Dungannon. The second truck, a white 2017 Ford F-450 Super-Duty Platinum Edition, was stolen from a business located on Dungannon Road.
The thieves forced entry onto the property by smashing through a perimeter gate, then forced entry into the business where they located the keys to the Ford F-450 Super Duty.
Later that day, around 3 p.m. police received a call from a property owner in Huron-Kinloss Township to report he had located the Ford F-450 Super Duty truck stuck in a swamp on his property. The vehicle was towed out and was processed by investigators.
Police are still searching for the white, Ford F-250 Super Duty Platinum Edition, valued at approximately $82,000.
