Kincardine`s first Pride Parade was a colourful event and saw huge support from those marching in it and the hundreds who lined Broadway and Queen Street to watch.
Held Saturday morning, the parade ran from Connaught Park to Victoria Park, led by Sandy Blackwood and Fort Papalia of the organizing committee.
As the crowd gathered in Victoria Park after the parade, Papalia said he was speechless by the turn-out.
“This is absolutely wonderful,” he said. “Today is Kincardine`s community day. I`m so proud of our hometown.”
He thanked all those who marched in the parade and helped out in any way to make this first Pride Parade a success.
Terry-Ann Smith, also a member of the organizing committee, welcomed everyone to the first annual Kincardine Pride Parade, and noted there were people in attendance from Detroit, Toronto, Sarnia and Goderich.
