Trillium Court, businesses, residences sport red-and-white for Canada Day
The big day is tomorrow (Saturday) and everywhere you look, businesses, residences, the main street, everyone is sporting red-and-white in preparation for the Canada Day 150 celebration in the Kincardine area.
Most notably, staff at Trillium Court Seniors' Community has decorated the atrium, and along with residents and guests, posed for a photo with the huge Canadian flag on the wall.
Residents and staff also created a Canadian flag out of "hands" made by the residents.
And staff showed pride in Canada's 150th birthday by creating a "150" out of Canadian flags on the lawn, just south of the building, beside Sutton Street.
In addition, members of the Ripley VON SMART fit class were sporting red-and-white in anticipation of Canada Day.
In other Trillium Court news:
- New this month, an introductory Spanish class for beginners - first class is July 6, with instructor Maria Valbuena. Everyone is invited to come and learn a new language before their next trip to Mexico/Cuba/Dominica Republic/Spain/etc. this winter.
- Eva Wilken has graciously agreed to another Poetry Reading, Tuesday, July 18, at 6 p.m., and we are very grateful as the response to the last reading was amazing. We encourage everyone to come and enjoy this event. It will be held on the third floor and, naturally, there will be refreshments. If you are a poet, please come and share.
- Lots of local day trips are available for the summer through the Kincardine Travel Club. Everyone is welcome.
