The Kincardine Sobeys Peewee "B" girls rep. hockey team has won first place in the Lower Lakes female hockey league loop.
A small but mighty team of 10 girls, plus an outstanding goalie, pushed past injuries and viruses throughout the three rounds of playoffs, taking each round in two straight games (best two-out-of-three) and with no goals scored against it. A small-town team with only two lines of players kept big-city teams with three lines off the score sheet.
Having beat out Vaughan and two different North York teams, the Kinucks will now move on to the year-end tournament, at the end of March, in a bid to be top in the entire division. Also, they will be representing Kincardine in OWHA’s Provincials in April. Stamina, determination, hard work, team work and sportsmanship are all represented by these athletes!
