Celebrating 40th birthday party on Station Beach, Kincardine
Wednesday afternoon was a bit chilly but that didn't stop Colin Maerstra's family from celebrating his 40th birthday at Station Beach, Kincardine.
About 24 family members, ages eight months to 49, gathered around the Elora man whose birthday was actually Thursday. The group (Maerstra's five siblings and their families) hailed from all over Canada and the United States, including the Seattle, Washington, area; Coaldale, Alberta; and Abbotsford and Vernon, British Columbia.
It was Maerstra's wish to enjoy a beach day in Kincardine for his birthday. The group was staying in Elora and planning trips to Toronto and St. Jacob's Market before heading home.
Other people were braving the cool day at the beach, burying each other in the sand, and swimming in the chilly water of Lake Huron.
The weather continued sunny but with a cool breeze, through the weekend.
