Members work showcased in "Poppies" and "Winter" at Victoria Park Gallery
For the next two months, members of the Victoria Park Gallery in downtown Kincardine, will have their work showcased in two exhibits - "Poppies" and "Winter" - in the guest gallery.
Up until Remembrance Day, the work on display features "Poppies," including such dramatic work as Lisa Farrell's mixed media piece, "Poppy," and Wilma Michel's photography on fibre paper, "Tears on the Poppies."
From then to the end of December, the work will focus on "Winter" and "Christmas," with such pieces as "Birch Trees," mixed media by Janice Vinandy, and "Winter Tulips," acrylic on canvas by Sylvia Melinz.
The gallery is open Monday to Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, Noon to 3 p.m. until Dec. 31. It is closed Christmas Day. In January, 2018, the gallery switches to winter hours, opening Friday to Sunday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
In March, 2018, the guest artist will be Lindsay Glover, a graduate of Kincardine District Secondary School, who won the Victoria Park Gallery scholarship.
Also next year, for the Kincardine 2018 Reunion, the gallery will have old Scougall photographs on display, and encourages members to create new photographs and paintings from these historical photos.
