Seems as if everyone had a safe and quiet Halloween out in the Grove. 
 
Congratulations to Kate Leppington of the Ripley 4-H Beef Club who was the Junior Champion Showman at the Royal Winter Fair this weekend. Many folks in the area are enjoying the opportunity to attend the event and there’s sure to be more news next week. Safe travels and good luck to all the exhibitors and visitors.
 
Congratulations to the folks at the United Church in Lucknow. They hosted a delicious lunch and wonderful bazaar, Saturday.
 
Jim and Fran Farrell hosted a birthday supper for Clara Farrell, Saturday. Clara celebrated her first birthday, Sunday. 
 
Joyce and John Farrell hosted a birthday celebration for Emelia Nahwegahbow’s first birthday; Micah Droppert’s sixth birthday; Alex Becker’s 11 birthday; David Becker’s birthday; and Mary Anne Kukoly’s "Who is counting?" birthday, Sunday. Joyce and John Farrell also hosted Ty and B.J. deJong of Walton for a Sunday lunch.
 
Mary Anne Kukoly visited with Delbert Hedley at Pinecrest Manor in Lucknow recently.
 
The Sunday Remembrance Service was held at St. Andrew’s United Church, Ripley, with members of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 440, Ripley-Huron in attendance, and John Farrell as piper.   
 
All you deer hunters be careful this week, and no ‘sound’ shots please.
