Bruce Power is Powering the Ontario Hockey League this season
Bruce Power is "Powering the Ontario Hockey League (OHL)," supporting the important work the league does in communities across the province during the 2017-18 season.
The company and the OHL will collaborate on charitable initiatives in some of the hockey organization's 20 markets, while also informing Ontario families about the key role Bruce Power nuclear plays across the province. Bruce Power provides 30 per cent of Ontario’s electricity at 30-per-cent less than the average cost to generate residential power, while securing jobs, cleaning the air, and providing the world with life-saving medical isotopes.
“Bruce Power is very proud to be Powering the Ontario Hockey League this season,” said James Scongack, vice-president, corporate affairs and environment. “The OHL plays an important role in communities across Ontario, and, through our involvement with the league, we look forward to discussing the role Bruce Power nuclear plays, and raising funds for key charities through this partnership.”
OHL commissioner David Branch welcomed Bruce Power to the OHL family.
“Our shared goals of supporting Ontario communities, make this partnership a good fit, and we look forward to building a powerful relationship in 2017-18,” he said.
The OHL is a member of the Canadian Hockey League which is the largest development league in the world. The OHL, which is comprised of 20 member teams including 17 in Ontario and three in the United States, is a leading supplier of talent to the National Hockey League and to U Sports Men’s Hockey programs.
