Former Kincardine councillor Bob White dies at the age of 75
Robert “Bob” William White of Kincardine, died peacefully at home, surrounded by family, Thursday, Nov. 23, 2017, in his 76th year.
Beloved husband of Betty Jean White (née Hodgins).
Cherished father of Cheryl (Dan) Anderson of Plattsville, Marilyn Crewe of Neepawa, MB, and Andrew (Heather) White of Kincardine.
Loving grandfather of 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Dear brother of Mildred Onley (David Lewis) of Callander. Missed by his aunt, Largaret McInnes of Kincardine, and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Predeceased by his son, Michael White; brother, Richard White; and parents. William and Pearl White.
Bob began his political career on Kincardine Township council in 1978 and continued through to the amalgamated Municipality of Kincardine council in 1999. He was a member of the Kincardine Agricultural Society for decades, serving three years as president. He was also a hard-working, dedicated volunteer with the annual Kincardine Fall Fair, and a 4-H leader.
He enjoyed his time with the Bruce County Federation of Agriculture, and the Saugeen Valley Conservation Authority, as well as heading group tours of college agriculture students in the area. And, if you were among the lucky few, you also knew he was a great guitar player and singer.
Visitation will be held at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, Kincardine, Sunday, Nov. 26, 2017, from 1-5 p.m., where the funeral will be held in the chapel, Monday, Nov. 27, 2017, at 11 a.m., with Rev. Rob Hiscox officiating.
Interment, Kincardine Cemetery.
Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or St. Matthew’s Kingarf Anglican Church, would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
